I call this place a “Palace of Inspiration.”
This was our second trip to this wonderful museum in the remote north of the Idaho panhandle. It is indeed a place of inspiration to see what this man accomplished. And we saw it on the day after this great man’s passing.
Dr. Bird was an inventor, and a huge invention 0f his was the respirator which saved many lives and took multitudes out of the “Iron Lung.”
Polio was an awful disease that we don’t hear much about these days … take a look at these pictures and you will appreciate what Dr. Bird accomplished.
Polio victims lived in this iron lung until they died of the disease.
