Michelle Obama Considers Hanoi Jane a “Role Model”

Michelle Obama Praises “Politically Savvy” Hanoi Jane

In her latest interview with People Magazine, First Lady Michelle Obama was asked to name female role models she would like to emulate when she gets older. Her choices? Actresses Cicely Tyson and Jane Fonda, infamously known as Hanoi Jane for supporting the enemy during the Vietnam War.

“I just went to see Cicely Tyson on Broadway. She is in her 80s [just turned 80 in December] and did a two-hour play with stamina and passion. I told her ‘I want to be you when I grow up!'” And then she added: “There’s Jane Fonda, a beautiful, engaged, politically savvy, sharp woman.

After the fall of South Vietnam, between 200,000 and 400,000 drowned while fleeing their country on fishing boats and makeshift vessels, according to the U.N. High Commission for Refugees. Some 65,000 were executed. One million ended up in concentration camps, where 165,000 were tortured or starved to death. Among those killed were 30,000 whose names had been on lists of CIA informants left behind at the embassy, National Review reported.

And this does not include neighboring Cambodia, which fell under the fist of Communism shortly following the US betrayal of South Vietnam. Cambodia where millions died – approximately one third of the population at the time.

Here are some that escaped – maybe:

I am a Navy veteran, and a Vietnam War veteran.  It greatly galls me and many others like me to see the First Lady of the United States – the wife of the Commander in Chief choose to honor Jane Fonda as a role model.

Does she not know a lick of history – does she not know the history of Communism in the 20th century – does she not know the history of the Vietnam war – does she not know the  history of Jane Fonda’s travels to North Vietnam and giving aid and comfort — the very definition of treason, to an enemy of the United States?

Does she not know that during the 20th century, somewhere on the order of 100 million, that is 100,000,000 people died because of the kinds of Communist leaders Jane Fonda was aiding in Hanoi? Dying of government forced starvation, dying of forced labor in the gulags of Siberia, dying of mass executions.

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny as the North Koreans with the aid of the Communist Chinese invaded South Korea?

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny at Berlin when the Communists of East Germany and the Soviet Union threatened to overrun or starve out West Berlin?

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny that planted nuclear missiles 90 miles from Florida?

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny as it sought footholds in Central America?

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny when Nikita Khrushchev threatened to bury us?

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny as it threated to overrun the island nation of Taiwan?

Does she not know of the history of the United States standing against Communist tyranny world wide from President Truman to Presidents Reagan and George H.W. Bush ?

Does she not know … or does she not care?

What are the backgrounds of these – the President and First Lady of the United States that she would choose to so disrespect so many?

Could it be that they see no offence in choosing such a role model? No offence because of the Communist influences in our Presidents life such as:

  • His mother
  • Frank Marshall Davis
  • Bill Ayers
  • and others

When can we expect the President of the United States and his wife … the First Lady of the United States, to issue, from the White House,  a public apology for such an affront?
